About the artist
Kevin Houchin is the father of three kids who grew up in ballet. As a dance parent, he spent hours and hours watching rehearsals. To help pass the time, he began doing gesture drawings of the dancers in motion.
The dance community on Instagram then captured his attention and he struck up friendships with leading dance photographers around the world. He then began creating the stylized line art illustrations you’ll find within this book, using amazing images from photographers and Ballet Des Moines dancers as reference material.
Kevin lives on a mountain in Colorado, but travels to support his two sons who are still active in ballet — one of which is BDM professional company dancer Rune Houchin!
